Fiber Optic Christmas Trees

One of the best gadgets I have bought over the years and one that I will be able to use again and again for years to come, is one of the fiber optic christmas trees.  It looks great in my home and takes up less space and is much less hassle than a traditional tree.

There are many different types and styles to choose from but let me tell you why I chose to buy one in the first place.

I blame our 2 new cats, who, we found, decided that our normal Christmas tree was the perfect play toy and climbing frame when we were not looking.  They pulled the decorations down, chewed on the branches and one of the cats even tried to climb to the top.

So, we decided that until the cats are older, we would get a smaller tree that could sit in the corner of the room on top of a small table we had spare.  We did not want to get one that was powered by batteries as we have seen that these look quite low quality and the brightness of the lights is never very good.  Also, having to change the batteries all the time is a real pain.

We then found that the best looking tree would be a carbon fiber model as they are bright and look amazing - especially if you can get one where the lights either change colour or pulse and strobe (along in time to Jingle Bells).

Here are the 3 trees we shortlisted as the best option.

White fiber optic christmas trees

Nothing says Christmas more than the sight of a snowy tree and this white fiber optic model.  It comes in different sizes and each branch packs in between 200 and 300 fiber tips for a brilliant white shine.

You can choose to have a 5,6 or 7 foot tree which all feature high quality colour changing fiber optic tips.  Each branch has also been tipped with a brilliant white LED light, which makes it look amazing,

One good thing about LED bulbs compared to your usual "lights on  a string" stuff, is that if one decides to fail, the others are not affected.  The lights are also pre-fitted to the tree or "pre-lit" so all you need to do is to assemble it and enjoy it.

Pre-Lit fiber optic christmas trees

This tree is quite small, but does look amazing, especially in a darkened room.  It measures 36 inches high and is around 19 inches in diameter, so not the largest tree available, but it is one of the best pre-lit fiber optic trees available and definitely one of the best sellers.

I always like to go for products that have good reviews on Amazon and this one has 5 out of 5 starts.  The buyers all say that this tree looks amazing, is the perfect size and looks great in their home.

This tree, like the others, comes with an AC adapter (indoor use only) so it can be powered from the mains.  Many other battery operated trees wear down the power too quickly (and are often not proper fiber optic wires) so definitely choose one with a proper mains adapter.

Each of the fiber lights also changes colour on a pulsing and blinking pattern, so just watching it will get you in the festive mood.  The base has a small multi-colored disc in that rotates, allowing the coloured light to shine through the fibers.

The price is also very attractive for such a modern gadget - check out the best price here.

Tabletop fiber optic christmas trees

Although this tree looks a little odd, it really caught our eye and we thought that it would look great on the coffee table against the wall.  It might not look like anything amazing when it is turned off (none of these fiber optic trees do, to be brutally honest) but plug it in and it looks amazing.

Each of the branches dances with coloured lights and looks very pretty in the dark - definitely something that any young child would be pleased to see.  The branches can also be adjusted too so that you can shape the tree to how you like.

Also, as it is standing on a table, the height is perfect at only 32 inches.  It stands on a small plastic stand, which does not look infallible but is ideal for standing the tree in a place where it would not get knocked over or bumped into.

The reviews of this product are all good and people are happy with the tree and recommend it to others to buy.  Also, over at Amazon, there is a discount of over 50% at the moment - so it is definitely a good bargain.

I hope you have found this list useful but make sure you click the images and links to view more information about each one before you make up your mind.  We ended up buying the first tree, as we were taken with the unique white design.
